Wanheng Menayothin Wins Rematch, Defends his Strawweight Title

Today in Thailand…

Wanheng Menayothin controlled the fight throughout and moves to 53-0-0, 18KO, retaining his WBC Minimumweight title after the ring doctor determined he could not continue due to a cut over his eye caused by an accidental headbutt by Japanese challenger Tatsuya Fukuhara (21-7-6, 7KO) in the 8th round.

Menayothin set to make 11th defense in rematch with Fukuhara

On Friday, undefeated WBC Minimumweight world champion Wanheng Menayothin (52-0, 18 KO) of Thailand, will make the 11th defense of his title against the # 6 challenger Tatsuya Fukuhara (21-6-6, 7 KO’s) of Japan.

This will be the second time the two will square off as they fought the first time in November of 2017 when Menayothin outboxed Fukuhara to a unanimous decision win. I would expect Menayothin to take the second fight in similar fashion.
