He made a statement and paid his dues in what was his United States debut, as Nordine Oubaali (15-0-0, 11KO) won the battle of southpaws, defeating former Champion Rau’shee Warren (16-3-0, 4KO) by unanimous decision to become the new WBC Bantamweight Champion.
The fight was an entertaining bout, and a solid fight as the set up to the two main attractions on the Showtime PPV card. Oubaali now owns a win over Warren in both the amateurs, and the professional ranks. Now being the man who hoists the green belt, Oubaali has a mandatory challenger lined up for him, and that challenger is Japan-bred, Interim WBC titlist Takuma Inoue (13-0-0, 3KO).
