Oscar Delivers Workmanlike Performance – Valdez vs. Berchelt Next?

Former Featherweight Titlist 🇲🇽Oscar Valdez (28-0-0, 22 KO👊) totaled three knockdowns to stop 🇵🇷Jayson Velez (29-7-1, 21 KOs👊) in the tenth and final round of their super featherweight bout Tuesday night in Las Vegas.

It appears a big matchup against WBC Super-Featherweight Champion 🇲🇽Miguel Berchelt is up soon, something that Valdez welcomes with open arms.  He would later say that it would be an honor for him to fight with Berchelt, citing the legendary 🇲🇽Marco Antonio Barrera and 🇲🇽Erik Morales wars, in anticipating that a all-Mexico war of that caliber may ensue. In a Judging sidenote, long time Judge 📝Dave Moretti had Jayson Velez ahead 76-75 entering the ninth round…anybody up for some changes of the Guard when it comes to Judges?

Respect in Combat (Valdez|Lopez)

The victorious 🇲🇽Oscar Valdez with 🇺🇸Adam Lopez after their Super-Featherweight battle Saturday night. Lopez dropped Valdez in the second round and was up on all the judges cards when he was stopped in the 7th round.

“I take my hat off to Adam Lopez. He’s a great fighter, great warrior, just like his father [Hector Lopez] was. I just got hit. This is boxing. I prepared myself for two, three months for Gutierrez. Got a new opponent, but that’s no excuse. This kid is a warrior.”
