A Legend Passes Away, the Legacy Lives on (RIP Jose Napoles) 🗞️

Earlier we had received confirmation that Cuban boxing legend 🇨🇺Jose “Mantequilla” Napoles (81-7-0, 54KO) has passed away at the age of 79. In recent years, he had dealt with many different ailments that affected the quality of his life.

Napoles was a Cuban boxer who defected to Mexico in 1962 and became one of Mexico’s most recognizable and loved Champions. From a Championship run that started with a big win over the talented Curtis Cokes, he went on to become one of the greatest Welterweight Champions of all-time.  He will definitely be missed in the boxing community.

Frampton Breaks his Hand – Fight with Dominguez Called off 🗞️

Former Featherweight Champion 🇬🇧Carl “Jackal” Frampton’s (26-2-0, 15KO) quest towards hoisting another World Title has been temporarily halted, with news surfacing today that he has broken 2 knuckles in his left hand due to an accident that had occurred.

This renders his Saturday fight with 🇲🇽Emanuel Dominguez (26-8-2, 18KO) as a no-go. The co-headliner featured contest of 🇺🇸Jason Sosa vs.🇺🇸Haskell Lydell Rhodes will be rolled over to be showcased as the headliner on the ESPN+ card.
