20 year old lightweight prospect Ryan Garcia (17-0-0, 14KO) will fight for the first time in 2019 Saturday night when he faces Jose Lopez (20-3-1, 14KO) in a 10 round headliner at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California on DAZN.
Garcia was last seen leaving the ring with a knockout win over Braulio Rodriguez on the undercard to Canelo Alvarez vs Rocky Fielding in December.
Saturdays match will be the second fight for Garcia under the guidance of Eddy Reynoso, who is also the trainer to Alvarez. Up until the Rodriguez fight, Garcia had been handled by his father Henry.
Garcia’s opponent is Jose Lopez of Puerto Rico. Lopez went 1-1 in 2018, winning a ten round unanimous decision over Miguel Angel Gonzalez, and losing to Jonathan Oquendo by 6th round knockout in October.
