A Happy 43rd Birthday to Miranda Adkins – (Also, Looking at the Dangers of Faulty Matchmaking)

First off, I would like to wish female boxer 🇺🇸Miranda Adkins a happy 🗓️43rd birthday, and hopes she finds enjoyment in her annual day.  What I would like to say deriving off of that is that…..I am glad she actually gets to celebrate a birthday given the circumstances she found herself in on Friday night, going up against strong Light-Flyweight top contender 🇺🇸Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada, and getting damn near decapitated, being knocked out in only 7 seconds of combat – 📜the fastest knockout in women’s boxing history. The finale towards crowning an Undisputed Middleweight Champion of the world took place on September 29th, 2001.  Crafty and ruggedly skilled longtime Middleweight World Titlist 🇺🇸Bernard “The Executioner” Hopkins (39-2-1,  KO👊) was looking to make the 14th defense of his IBF title, and his first defense of the WBC strap that he had won from 🇺🇸Keith Holmes a fight prior, while Puerto Rico’s legendary wrecking-ball 🇵🇷Felix “Tito” Trinidad (40-0-0, 33KO👊👊) was looking to defend his WBA Middleweight Title that he ripped away from 🇺🇸William Joppy earlier that year by way of 🔥fiery destruction and malice.  Continue reading “Boxer’s Greatest Nights (Hopkins Takes His Place As a Legend, Defeats Trinidad to Become Undisputed Middleweight Champion) 📺”

February 13th, 1999 gave us a treat to boxing, as P4P great, dubbed “The Golden Boy” 🥇🇺🇸Oscar De La Hoya (then-29-0-0, 24KO👊) was looking to make his 6th defense of his WBC World Welterweight Title against dangerously skilled Ghanaian great 🇬🇭Ike “Bazooka” Quartey (then-34-0-1, 30KO👊).  While a strong argument could be made as well for De La Hoya’s performance against 🇺🇸Fernando Vargas as well for this honor for a litany of reasons, this one against Ike had more significance on Oscar’s personal journey, and served as a turning stone towards getting universal acclaim as an upper echelon great fighter.  Continue reading “Boxers Greatest Nights (The Golden Boy Oscar De La Hoya’s Widespread Validation Against Ike Quartey) 📺”

This weekend, we will get a RING/LINEAL Heavyweight Champion of the World after a 3-4 year hiatus when power punching WBC Titlist 🥉🇺🇸Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (42-0-1, 41KO👊👊) will accompany skilled former Champion 🇬🇧Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury (29-0-1, 20KO👊) into the ring at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.  The fight is expected to be the continuation of the action that took place in their first fight 14 months prior, and is equally as interesting approaching the fight as it was the first time around.
