Makabu Feeling at Home in Russia

The always entertaining, skilled Cruiserweight top world contender 🇨🇩Ilunga Mkabu (26-2-0, 24KO) is 2-0 this year, winning both fights on the road in Russia. This time Makabu dropped Russia’s 🇷🇺Aleksei Papin (11-1-0, 10KO) late in the 12th round to get the majority decision in Chelyabinsk, Russia on the undercard to Sergey Kovalev vs Anthony Yarde.

The win comes just two months after the heavy handed Congolese fighter traveled over to Russia and knocked out contender 🇷🇺Dmitry Kudryashov in five rounds in what was a firefight.  Ilunga has all but placed himself in the short running to receive another title shot.
