Povetkin Turns Out the Lights on Whyte to Win Interim Title

It looked like 🥇🇷🇺Alexander “Sasha” Povetkin, could be finished off at any moment. The former WBA Heavyweight World Champion had been put down twice in the fourth round by 🇯🇲🇬🇧Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte in the final Matchroom Fight Camp card Saturday, and didn’t appear to have any momentum on his side to pull a rabbit out of the hat.

Dillian Whyte Defeats Oscar Rivas, Becomes WBC Mandatory

In the main event at the O2 Arena in London, British Heavyweight 🇬🇧Dillian Whyte used his jab to control the bulk of his fight with previously unbeaten Colombian 🇨🇴Oscar Rivas to win a 12 round unanimous decision and become the WBC Heavyweight mandatory. The win earns him a title shot against whoever survives after February of 2020 between Deontay Wilder, Tyson Fury & Luis Ortiz.

Dillian Whyte Faces Hungry Oscar Rivas in WBC Title Eliminator

The WBC #1 mandatory contender 🇬🇧Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte continues to wait for his shot at the title held by current champion Deontay Wilder, a wait that Whyte has continuously noted has gone on for over 600 days at this point. The last time we saw Whyte in the ring he won with an explosive 11th round knockout over longtime rival Derek Chisora in December of 2018.
