Heading into last week, the focus was on young welterweight prospect Vito Mielnicki, 17, and middleweight Joey Spencer, 19. Both fighters came out victorious, but neither performance provided anything special for the highlight reels. It turned out to be super lightweight prospect 🇺🇿Shohjahon “Descendant of Tamerlane” Ergashev (18-0-0, 16KO) of Uzbekistan, that impressed the most Friday night in Sloan, Iowa on ShoBox. The 28 year old southpaw made quick work of Mexico’s 🇲🇽Adrian Estrella (29-5-0, 24KO) sending the 29 year old to the mat writhing in pain, with a sharp body shot just 1:32 into the first round.

The fight didn’t exactly move the crowd at the Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but it served more as a stringent test of sorts of Colbert as Corrales brings a certain level of pedigree to the ring with him. Colbert did what was expected of him and worked his way towards a Unanimous Decision to where he would nab the vacant interim WBA Super-Featherweight Title, opening up a new plateau and plethora of top-end talent to now 🎯target.
