A Very, Very Late Review – Kazuto Ioka Defeats Francisco Rodriguez Jr. in Super-Flyweight World Title Defense 

Apologies, as we had a busy week on a personal tip. If elite WBO Super-Flyweight world titlist 🔱🇯🇵Kazuto Ioka (27-2-0, 15KO👊) isn’t on your ⚓Top-10 P4P list, then the validity of your list has to come into question. Last week on September 1st, Kazuto showcased his model consistency as he faced Mexico’s 🇲🇽Francisco Rodriguez Jr. (34-5-1, 24KO👊) out in Japan, in a bout where Ioka won a Unanimous Decision for his third title defense since winning the burgundy strap at 115 lbs. Despite the Controversy, the Fight is Still On, as Oscar Valdez Meets Robson Conceição for Super-Featherweight Title Fight

Well….any excitement that this bout was supposed to garner was replaced by controversy, frustration, and plenty of open-ended questions involving the Commission. Mexico’s WBC Super-Featherweight world titlist 🇲🇽Oscar Valdez (29-0-0, 23KO👊) riding high after his career-peak win over previously feared world titleholder 🇲🇽Miguel Berchelt – was littered with good press, and a new-found respect from pundits who had seen him take a drastic leap in technique in dominating an opponent, and had cemented himself as being an elite fighter when there was a time previous where his reputation jumped out ahead of his talent in a way where it didn’t accurately reflect where he was as an overall fighter. An Accidental Headbutt Halts the Rematch Between Warrington and Lara in the 2nd Round, and the Bout Was Ruled a Technical Draw

This fight was largely anticipated by hardcore boxing fans, and especially those in Leeds, at 🏟️Headingly Rugby League Stadium who were looking to cheer 🇬🇧Josh “Leeds Warrior” Warrington (30-1-1, 7KO👊) for some redemption, however a bad headbutt that occurred in the 2nd round split and opened up a horrible cut over 🇲🇽Mauricio “Bronco” Lara’s (23-2-1, 16KO👊) left eye, and after examination from a Ringside Physician, the fight ended after that second frame, rendering the fight a 📋“Technical Draw”. Naturally both fighters were gutted after the time they put into the preparation, and with the fireworks produced in those 6 min prior to the stoppage. Katie Taylor Showcases Her Class Over Skilled, Respected Jennifer Han – Secures UD to Defend Her Lightweight World Titles

It was an entertaining bout in spots, as 👑🥇🇮🇪“Irish” Katie Taylor (19-0-0, 6KO👊), and 🇺🇸Jennifer Han (18-4-1, 1KO👊) put their best foot forward in representing themselves. Katie as she is accustomed to doing, proved to be a couple of levels over the former world titlist from El Paso, and worked her way towards a Unanimous Decision victory, securing her 11th straight title defense, and her 4th defense since becoming Undisputed World Champion.
