Jarrett Hurd To Move Up & Fight At Middleweight Against Luis Arias On Trending Showtime PPV Undercard

No, we will not be covering anything on ๐Ÿ’ปShowtime PPV’s main event…or any event for that matter regarding farcical youtube boxers playing their role in making a mockery of the sport. What we will do however is bring light to a legitimate boxing event that will be scheduled on its undercard. Former Unified Super-Welterweight Titlist ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธJarrett “Swโšกft” Hurd (24-1-0, 16KO๐Ÿ‘Š) will fight in his first Middleweight fight since 2014.

Though he is keeping his option going of returning to 154 lbs. to fight ๐Ÿ‘‘๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธJermell Charlo “IF” he unifies all of the World Title belts, for now he wants to expand his horizons, at a weight that appears to be more suitable for him at this current time given his physique, and point where he is at in his life, at โš–๏ธ160 lbs.

Solid competition will be in with him, as he gets another crack at a notable opponent, that being Milwaukee-born fighter ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธLuis Arias (18-2-1, 9KO๐Ÿ‘Š). You may remember him by his loss to Daniel Jacobs, or perhaps more from his draw against Gabriel Rosado. His last time out, he had a tough loss against Luke Keeler.

Arias is one who boxes pretty well, but not at an elite level, nor does he have the power to supplement what isn’t there, thus becoming a tweener, and somebody whose ceiling may be that of contender, but he does bring what he has every time to the ring with him.

As for Hurd, he was one of, if not the biggest Super-Welterweight that we’ve ever seen, and being a relentless pressure fighter who walks you down every second of the fight, he looks to be built for the physical Middleweight division. Never forget – he did earn back-to-back-to-back victories over ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธTony Harrison, ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธAustin Trout, and ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡บErislandy Lara, staking his claim as one of the divisions best.

He suffered a somewhat shocking defeat to ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธJulian Williams, and lost his two title belts in the process. His last fight, he did get himself back in the โœ”๏ธwin column, but now he wants to start a new path towards getting big fights, and an impressive victory over Luis Arias here would be a pretty good start towards trending in that direction. The fight will take place on Sunday night, June 6th.
