Young Sunny Gets His Chance to Test the Champion Vet Mthalane in IBF Flyweight World Title Showdown

The pride of South Africa, and a permanent fixture in the ⚖️112 lb. scene, there is no more consistent performer in the sport of boxing than IBF Flyweight Champion 🇿🇦Moruti Mthalane (39-2-0, 26KO👊). His level of consistency extends back all the way back to 2008, which was the last time he encountered a loss, that coming against legend 🇵🇭Nonito Donaire.

Embarking upon a 13 year unblemished stretch, and bypassing an entire decade without tasting defeat, it has been the performances themselves that reflect the consistently, as he has been able to avoid the one blip of an outing that most boxers are prone to have, and the 38 year old still hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down yet. His previous bout, he was able to dominate former 3-division Titlist and modern day warrior 🇯🇵Akira Yaegashi by TKO victory, forcing the iconic action fighter to retire from the sport of boxing.

Now the Edwards twins have each brought intrigue to the contender, and champion ranks in the lower weight divisions. Brother 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Charlie was able to win the WBC Flyweight title at one point, and now 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿Sunny Edwards (15-0-0, 4KO👊) will get his big opportunity to live out his dream, & become a world titlist as well, as the undefeated prospect/contender drops down from the Super-Flyweight division to try his luck, and test his merit against one of the two best at 112 lbs.

Mthalane never lost a title bout when he came in as the Champion, and Sunny Edwards never lost a fight, what will give when the two meet this Friday on April 30th? we will see. There will be a couple different ways to view this main event and its fight card….either you can catch is on 📺BT Sports, or it can be found being broadcasted on 💻ESPN+.
