For the last ten years, you couldn’t think of the Super-Welterweight division without 🇨🇺🇺🇸Erislandy Lara (27-3-3, 15KO👊) coming to mind. Being a well respected belt holder for many of those years, it appears that the 38 year old Cuban-born fighter has closed that chapter when it comes to the 154 lb. division.
He has moved up, and will fight for the secondary WBA belt, against New Jersey’s 🇺🇸Thomas Lamanna (30-4-1, 12KO👊) to put himself in prime position to fight the true titlists in the division. There isn’t anything particularly special about Lamanna, although he is the ranked #8 contender by the WBA. If he can find a way to pull off the upset here, he could expedite his career leaps and bounds. Catch this Premiere Boxing Champions undercard event on 📺FOX PPV on Saturday, May 1st.
