The anticipated co-headliner for Saturday’s Canelo/Yildirim card has once again hit a snag. Word is coming in that WBC Flyweight Champion 🇲🇽Julio Cesar Martinez (17-1-0, 13KO) was forced to back out of his bout with 🇵🇷McWilliams Arroyo (20-4-0, 15KO
) two days prior to the fight due to suffering a hand injury that had occurred during a training drill. Naturally Martinez is gutted over this setback.
“Well, more than anything, I want you to know for me, the truth is I am very sad, very disappointed by this, for what has happened to all my people who have always supported me and have always been with me. This does not stop the fight (from eventually happening) and I am going to go back to look for that knockout. I apologize to everyone.”
