Saturday, December 12th marks the official return of Unified WBA/WBO/IBF Heavyweight Titlist & #1 Ring-Magazine World Contender 🥇🇬🇧Anthony “AJ” Joshua (23-1-0, 21KO👊), and he will be taking on IBF mandatory top ranked veteran contender 🇧🇬Kubrat “The Cobra” Pulev (28-1-0, 14KO👊) as a main headliner hosted at Wembley Arena.
ANTHONY – AFTER SUFFERING A HICCUP, GETS THE TRAIN BACK ON THE TRACK
What a crazy 2019 that Joshua had. After losing in a colossal upset to 🇺🇸Andy Ruiz Jr. in June of 2019, the boxing pantheon reigned bullets down upon him, but due to the re-match clause, AJ was able to get another shot at getting his three Heavyweight titles back, and he did not disappoint at all.
He harkened back to his Olympic Gold-Medal run back in 2012, and got back to the basics with his fundamentals. After learning his lesson trying to trade with the heavier man, he instead used his legs, craft, and ring intelligence to take advantage of Ruiz plodding feet, and dominated him to win back what he had lost, successfully silencing doubters who did not believe he would get all of his hardware back.
He will now be facing Kubrat Pulev, who seem to have been a mandatory IBF challenger forever – or at least a very long time. He also encountered some personal setbacks of his own doing that prolonged the process, but finally at the advanced age of 🗓️39, he gets his grand opportunity to try and pull off an upset against a very talented, but vulnerable belt holder.
