If you were questioning if retirement was creeping into the mind of 38 year old legend 🇨🇴🇳🇴Cecilia “First Lady” Brækhus (36-1-0, 9KO), well we just got a definitive answer, and that answer is no. She opted to attempt to get her world titles back that judges awarded now-Welterweight Champion of the World 🇺🇸Jessica “CasKILLA” McCaskill (9-2-0, 3KO) by activating an existing rematch clause in her previous contract.
Brækhus turns 39 years old in exactly two weeks, and at the very least, she would like to retire as the first lady by definitively putting McCaskill away to claim back what she believes she shouldn’t have lost. McCaskill stands tall in a position where she holds all of the Welterweight belts (RING/WBA/WBC/WBO/IBF), while also holding two world titles at her natural weight (WBA/WBC), which is Junior-Welterweight. Anytime there is a close decision that has passed, with a chance to do it again, someone like McCaskill has natural built-in incentive to prove to doubters that she is indeed the better of the two fighters, so what do we say? let’s do it again. There is no scheduled date or venue for this fight as of yet, we just know that it will indeed happen, and it may happen most likely in the early portions of 2021.
