This guy is set to enter the ring on August 1st. That of course is former RING/LINEAL Super-Flyweight Champion of the World 🇹🇭Srisaket Sor Rungvisai (47-5-1, 41KO👊). The opponent to face off against the granite-fisted Thai fighter is accomplished veteran and former Flyweight Titlist 🇹🇭Amnat Ruenroeng (20-3-0, 6KO👊).
Rungvisai (also known as Wisaksil Wangek) last fight was in April of 2019, when his Championship reign was ended by now-Super-Flyweight King ♛🇲🇽Juan Francisco Estrada. While Rungvisai has his eye on getting a rubber-match with his rival (both split one-a-piece), or bigger fights that are on the horizon at 115 lbs., he is well aware of this upcoming match-up, as he looks to dedicate full attention to his more than capable opponent.
While Ruenroeng has a well-storied career, with an interesting array of skills to boot, he is what you would consider long in the tooth, being 40 years of age – that being especially old for the lighter weight divisions. His last big win came in 2015 when he defeated 🇵🇭John Riel Casimero – a fight that Casimero would avenge by defeating Amnat in a rematch. Where Ruenroeng stands at this point of his journey is as a wildcard, trying to muster up one more run toward the big time, and his opportunity is here. The fight will be broadcast on Matchroom Boxing’s youtube page (Matchroom Boxing), to give the public full access to the event.
