The great Ricardo “Finito” Lopez fittingly goes out with a bang.

Serving as the main undercard to Bernard Hopkins vs Felix Trinidad, Mexico’s 🇲🇽Ricardo Lopez (50-0-1, 37KO) successfully made the second defense of his IBF Light-Flyweight Title against 🇿🇦Zolani Petelo (17-2-2, 9KO), knocking out the South African southpaw in the eighth round.

“Unbeaten Ricardo Lopez retained his International Boxing Federation light flyweight title by dropping challenger Zolani Petelo twice, in the second and eighth round. Badly beaten, Petelo stayed on one knee until referee Arthur Mercante’s count reached 10.”

This would be the final fight for “Finito” Lopez who retired undefeated at the age of 35 with a record of 51-0-1 with 38 knockouts.
