Palicte and Duno Get Back Into the Win Column in Hometown Card

At the Lagao Gym in General Santos City, Philippines, former Super-Flyweight world title contender 🇵🇭Aston Palicte and Lightweight 🇵🇭Romero Duno got back on the winning track, finishing their opponents off quickly.

Palicte (26-4-1, 22KO), who suffered back to back losses in 2019 to Kazuto Ioka and Renz Rosia, stopped 🇵🇭Jonathan Francisco (10-15-1, 4KO) in the second round of a scheduled eight round bantamweight bout.

In a Lightweight contest set for 10 rounds, Romero Duno (22-2-0, 17KO) knocked out 🇵🇭Angelito Merin (10-13-3, 4KO) in the first round. This was the first fight for Duno since suffering his own first round knock out loss to rising lightweight Ryan Garcia in November of 2019.

Saturday’s opponents weren’t on either man’s level, but the most important thing for both Palicte and Duno was to get back in the ring and win column. If the goal is to get back into contention, both fighters should be back in the ring fairly soon.
