Amanda Serrano Gets Her Tune-Up Fight in the Books, TKO’s Da Silva in 3

Puerto Rican superstar ♛🇵🇷Amanda “Real Deal” Serrano (38-1-1, 28KO👊) got her work in and racked up an easy victory, defeating 🇧🇷Simone Aparecida Da Silva (17-15-0, 6KO👊) by 3rd round TKO stoppage for what was an expected result for a tune-up assignment.

This fight had a quick start to it, with the southpaw Serrano pressing the action.  Da Silva didn’t exactly fight scared, opting to trade with the women’s P4P star and landed a couple decently timed punches, but she didn’t have the type of power needed to corkscrew it home as Serrano walked through them to land combinations up top.  Da Silva looks to be a better fighter than her record indicates, but still this essentially was a showcase for Amanda, and she turned it into a bit of a dogfight looking to make quick work of her Brazilian challenger.

In the second round, Serrano trapped Da Silva in the corner and unleashed a rage of multiple combinations stacked on top of one another, and finally knocked an overwhelmed Da Silva down to the canvas with seconds left to go in the round, as those repeated straight left hands were too much for Da Silva to take.  Serrano kept her foot on the gas pedal in the 3rd time looking to break her downstairs, then came upstairs and started to hammer her with upstairs.  With Da Silva clearly looking disheveled, the Referee properly stepped in to call a halt to the bout, resulting in her 38th victory.  She looked sharp personally for someone who took the fight on 6 days notice, and now she can shift her attention to what’s next.  Perhaps that next step may be the ♛🥇🇮🇪“Irish” Katie Taylor match-up that we all hope to see, but we will see what will manifest from those talks.
