Quigley knocks out Marin in third: That’s two in a row for the California based Irish Middleweight since suffering his first loss in 2019 to Tureano Johnson. Under the guidance of fellow Irishman and former Middleweight champion Andy Lee, Quigley (18-1-0, 14KO) put the heat on Mexico’s Fernando Marin (16-5-3, 12KO), most notably landing 75% of his power shots (41 of 55) and 49 of the total 74 punches he threw in the round. The accumulation of shots caught up to Marin in the third and a clean shot to his right eye at the 1:47 mark spelled the end as he hit the canvas and would not continue. The loss is the second in a row for Marin and third out of his last four.
