Explosive Super-Middleweight prospect 🇵🇷🇺🇸Edgar “The Chosen One” Berlanga (13-0-0, 13KO) continues to make quick work of his opposition on his climb up the ladder. Saturday night, veteran 🇪🇦Cesar Nunez (16-2-1, 8KO) was the latest to fall victim to Berlanga’s power on the undercard to Crawford-Kavaliauskas at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The 22 year old Brooklyn based banger kept his method of execution perfectly in tact, delivering his 13th consecutive first round knockout in as many fights. There was never any thought that Nunez would provide any significant push back against Berlanga, the only mystery was if he could be the first fighter to hear the bell opening the second round. No dice, as Berlanga showed he had no intention of letting the 34 year old from Spain be the one to bring his streak to an end, stalking and pummeling him methodically, dropping him three times before the referee stopped the beating with 15 seconds left in the round.
Nunez won’t blow anyone away as far as opposition goes, but the performance brought those in attendance for the undercards to their feet and had them buzzing, and that’s what the night of work was about for Berlanga. He will definitely be among the top tier of prospects to watch in 2020.
