In the Super-Flyweight division, 🇦🇺Andrew Moloney (21-0-0, 14KO👊) remained undefeated (Pictured up Top) and officially put himself one step closer towards a World Title by winning the Interim WBA Title against Guyana’s 🇬🇾Elton Dharry (24-6-1, 14KO) in front of his home Australian crowd by way of “RTD” stoppage in what was a decent scrap. Moloney’s knee hit the canvas in the 5th round… from a heavy uppercut landed by Dharry. Though it wasn’t counted by Referee Ferlin Marsh, the shot did damage. Nonetheless, Moloney got up and re-grouped, and caused significant swelling to Dharry’s eye from the 6th round on, and made it progressively worse with the jab all the way up till the 9th round, prompting the stoppage to be called by the ring Doctor to signal this fight to an end. Obtaining the Interim title, this helps his cause, as Moloney has had his eyes set on getting a showdown with WBA Super-Flyweight Titlist 🇬🇧Kal Yafai, and is now in position for a shot at the official title.
Co-headlining the Melbourne card (Pictured Here) at Bantamweight, 🇦🇺Jason Moloney (20-1-0, 17KO👊) won by way of second round knockout over Nicaragua’s 🇳🇮Dixon Flores (16-7-3, 5KO) to keep the ball rolling in his quest in the Bantamweight division.
