Armageddon on the Way – Gvozdyk & Beterbiev to Go to War for World Title Unification in Philadelphia

Whatever you are planning to to on Friday night…cancel it. A guaranteed war is on the way between two elite boxers in the Light-Heavyweight division, looking to bolster their credentials, and in unifying Titles, as WBC Light-Heavyweight Champion 🥉🇺🇦Oleksandr Gvozdyk (17-0-0, 14KO) will accompany with fearsome knockout artist & IBF Light-Heavyweight Champion 🇷🇺Artur Beterbiev (14-0-0, 14KO) at center-ring for one of the most anticipated action fights of the calendar year.

The Light-Heavyweight division is stacked with talent, and here are two of the major players in that mix. Both can punch, can box middle distance and are two of the smarter fighters today that we have in boxing. As for Gvozdyk, he won his WBC title back on December 1st of 2018, when he defeated long time Champion 🇨🇦Adonis Stevenson via scintillating performance, albeit the joy of the moment replaced by concern as Stevenson health was in peril following the fight. Gvozdyk is looking to make the second defense of his Title, and a claim to further 📈catapult his standing atop the position as arguably its best fighter.

Beterbiev has something to say about that though, as he had been dead-set on getting top quality opposition to finally step in the ring with him in his short stint as a pro. The 34 year old Beterbiev had a very successful, extensive amateur record, and it shows in his style, through his patience, balance, and his propensity to study his opponents at will, all quality secondary attributes to go with his devastating punch that has granted him a perfect knockout record up to this point.

Gvozdyk had a similar path, as the 32 year old came out of the 2012 London Olympics with a 🥉Bronze-Medal for his Ukraine team, and has been moving at an accelerated clip to secure his legacy, with a good crop of fighters available to possibly achieve what he seeks, and here will be the most difficult test of his career, as can be the same said about Beterbiev, with Oleksandr being the stiffest competition he has yet to face at the professional level.
This fight screams of 🏆“Fight of the Year” material, and the public, most notably hardcore fans and pundits who follow the sport closely understand the magnitude of this match-up, and we should all be in for a treat. This fight will be fought on the ESPN+ Streaming app. The event will take place at the 🏟️Liacouras Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. Tune in to see two of the best Light-Heavyweights mix it up to further shape out the pecking order of talent that sits in a talent-laden division.
