Serrano Wins the Battle of Brooklyn, Wins Decision Over Gutsy Hardy

In front of their home crowd at Madison Square Garden, P4P Puerto Rican talent ♛🇵🇷Amanda “Real Deal” Serrano (37-1-1, 27KO) outworked and out-skilled iron-clad 🇺🇸Heather Hardy (22-1-0, 4KO) to a UD victory, and becomes the new WBO Featherweight World Champion, adding another piece to a crowded trophy case.

Serrano came right after Hardy in the first round who approached the fight a little jittery at first trying to figure out the method in which she wanted to attack. Serrano barraged her with lethal left hands and short right hooks, and nearly forced Referee Mike Ortega to step in and stop the fight at around the 15 second marker in the first stanza, however Hardy showed JUST enough to prompt Ortega to allow the action to continue. Serrano throughout the early rounds proved to be too strong, and had the footwork and presence to trap Hardy in the corner a few times and pin her on the ropes while she let off hard combinations, but Hardy in those moments, and in this fight throughout once again showcased how tough she really is by refusing to break even in times where she was buckled.

In the mid rounds, Hardy got more comfortable with the flow of the fight and started to fight a little more on her front foot, exchanging with the bigger punching Serrano, so Amanda showcased why she is highly touted as one of the 4 best women boxers on the planet by adapting and switching up her attack, and started to box the charging Hardy in mid distance, and resorted to counter-punching. Hardy tried to mix up her attack throughout the second half of the fight, however nothing really stuck in terms of real success, even though she was faring off far better than how she had started. In the 10th and final round, Hardy appeared to find something by pop-shotting, using a hard pivot and circling back out, and using that tactic repeatedly to help her actually win the round, but that tactic was found a bit too late. With accurate scorecards of 98-92, 98-92, 98-91, Amanda Serrano once again is rendered a Champion.

Serrano is how a 8-time World Champion in 7 divisions, and now looks to have bigger fish to fry. Perhaps women boxing’s greatest match to ever be made is with Amanda Serrano moving back up to Lightweight to fight P4P Undisputed Lightweight Champion of the World ♛🥇🇮🇪Katie Taylor (14-0-0, 6KO), so from this point on, we will see if anything will come of it, and if so, we will definitely keep you informed throughout the process.
