Joshua Buatsi Keeps Climbing, Stops Ford in Seven

British Light-Heavyweight prospect 🇬🇧Joshua Buatsi keeps climbing as he delivered his seventh straight knockout, this time against a game 37 year old Canadian 🇨🇦Ryan Ford on the undercard to Vasiliy Lomachenko and Luke Campbell Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London.

Buatsi worked behind a steady flow of jobs and right hands mixed in with some sharp body work. Ford put up a fight throughout, sending looping rights at which caught Buatsi a few times but never staggered him.

The seventh round brought the moment that always seems to come for Buatsi, when he shows his finishing abilities. Buatsi delivered a right to the body that was followed by a left body shot, that toppled Ford as he went down on all fours. Ford attempted to get up to continue but couldn’t as he was counted out by referee Bob Williams, making this loss the first time he has been stopped in his career.

With the win Buatsi moves to 12-0-0 with 10KO, while Ford falls to 16-5-0 with 11KO. Buatsi is looking better every fight, displaying a solid jab, sharp right hand and devastating body work that comes with a patient gameplan and killer instinct when it’s time to get rid of an opponent. Hopefully we see Buatsi at least once more before the year ends.
