Mo Hooker Looking to Try his Luck at a New Weight 🗞️

Former WBO Junior-Welterweight Titlist 🇺🇸Maurice Hooker (26-1-3, 17KO) today has made it official by informing the public that for his next bout, he will look to make a move up to the Welterweight division. Hooker is exactly one month removed from his unification title bout against now-unified WBC & WBO Light-Welterweight Champion Jose Carlos Ramirez in a fight that will garner much consideration as a 2019’s Fight of the Year candidate. It was a grueling fight, one where Mo Hooker suffered his first experience of defeat, though fought well to a level of respectability that still cast him as one of the top boxers at 140.

Hooker has been one of the tallest Light-Welterweights you can find, so it may certainly benefit him to add a little to his wiry frame at the next weight class up at this stage of his career. He has aspirations of working his way back up to taking on some of the stiffest challenges in the Welterweight division, and his options to look towards are plentiful, as the Welterweight division is loaded within their top 12 – 15 rankings, furthering their claim in being the best division in boxing.
