WBO World Super-Bantamweight Champion 🇲🇽Emanuel Navarrete (27-1-0, 23KO) will make the second defense of his title against undefeated 🇺🇸Francisco De Vaca (20-0-0, 6KO), Saturday night at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, California.
This fight was originally set as the undercard for a welterweight fight between Jose Benavidez Jr. and Luis Collazo, but Benavidez withdrew due to injury.
Navarrete’s first title defense this past May was a success in a rematch with Isaac Dogboe whom he took the title from in 2018. Navarette once again was delivering a beating on the game Ghanaian when Dogboe’s corner mercifully threw in the towel in the twelfth round.
Now Navarette faces Mexican born Francisco De Vaca who resides in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a tremendous task for De Vaca who is undefeated yet unproven given the level of competition he has faced so far. De Vaca last fought in February, sweeping the rounds on all three judges scorecards on his way to beating Mexican journeyman Ernesto Guerrero. This will be his first 12 round bout and has only fought up to ten rounds once in his career.
On the undercard, former Super-Bantamweight Champion 🇺🇸Jessie Magdaleno (26-1-0, 18 KO’s), continues his run in the Featherweight division and will face 🇲🇽Rafael “Big Bang” Rivera (27-3- 2, 18 KO’s) who has been a sparring partner of Navarrette at times.
This card will be shown on ESPN+ with the undercards beginning at 6:30pm ET and the main card starting at 10pm ET/7pm PT.
