We lost another boxer this week. Argentinian pugilist Hugo Alfredo Santillan passed away recently, following his bout with Eduardo Javier Abreu on Saturday night. The bout was called a draw, but that serves no importance here, as Santillan took a great deal of punishment and had severe head injuries that resulted on bleeding of the brain.
He collapsed in his handlers arms as the scorecards were being read, and was transported to the hospital, but the complications was too advanced for the Argentinian man to be saved. He was only 23 years of age. A very unfortunate set of circumstances in a glorious but brutal sport, Rest in Peace Hugo Alfredo Santillan.
