“I’m gonna teach him a lesson he couldnt learn at Notre Dame”
🇺🇸Caleb Plant (19-0-0, 11KO) delivered on all his promises leading up to his fight with 🇺🇸Mike Lee (21-1-0, 11KO) Saturday night in Las Vegas on the undercard to Keith Thurman vs Manny Pacquiao.
Plant was superior in every facet of the matchup, be it hand speed, footwork, sharpness of his punches and overall ring IQ as he successfully defended his IBF Super-Middleweight title by 3rd round knockout.
Lee was put down 3 times in the bout, the first time being a left hook in the first round. The second round continued the lesson Plant was dishing out as he picked Lee apart from all angles leaving him with no answers.
The third round sealed the deal as Plant continued to have Lee reeling with his overall skill and put him down for the second time, this time Lee got to his feet but showed his level of frustration the rest of the round charging Plant recklessly eventually running right into another left hook to put him on the canvas.
Plant smelled the blood in the water and finished the job, putting Lee down for the third time in the round and referee Robert Byrd stopped the fight to Lee’s objections.
As predictable as the outcome against Lee may have been, Caleb Plant is cementing himself as arguably the #2 Super-Middleweight in the division right now behind RING-LINEAL & WBA champ Callum Smith. Hopefully we can see him soon in a matchup with the winner of David Benavidez and WBC Champion Anthony Dirrell.
