Earlier today, WBC Light-Flyweight Titlist 🇯🇵Ken “Amazing Boy” Shiro (16-0-0, 9KO) took care of WBC #1 ranked contender 🇵🇭Jonathan Taconing (28-4-1,22KO) who delivered a respectable effort in trying to win the fight, but was outmatched by the talented Champion from Kyoto, Japan.
Shiro was sharp from the outset, landing his straight punches with a high degree of accuracy and staying on the outside in his range, looking to make life difficult for Taconing inside the ring. Taconing throughout the fight was pressing the action, and found some success in cleverly landing a few counters and combinations over some periodic lazy stretches defensively by Shiro, but it was not enough in the long run. By round 3, Shiro adjusted to Taconing’s tendencies, and started to pick away at him. In the fourth round, Taconing fired a lazy left hand that Shiro sidestepped, then fired a cross, hook combo that put the Filipino fighter down to the canvas. He got up early, but never got his wits about him, or regained any composure as the Referee was assessing his status on whether he should continue or not, so the Ref signaled a stop to the fight. With this win, Shiro has secured a successful 6th defense of his WBC title, and remains undefeated.
A DEEPER SCOPE🔬 – Virtually by all credible boxing publications and minds alike, Ken Shiro is universally looked at as the #2 Light-Flyweight in the world. The RING-MAGAZINE-LINEAL Light-Flyweight Champion of the World is ♛🇯🇵Hiroto Kyoguchi (13-0-0, 9KO), who was in attendance to witness Shiro’s knockout victory. Considering some of the plans that has been leaked, it appears that a mega showdown been Kyoguchi and Shiro is in the works, and may be a matter of time before the bout is inked, and announced. We will keep a close eye on that as time passes.
