This Saturday we will have a true crossroads fight in the 154 pound division as former WBA Super-Welterweight Champion Austin Trout (31-5-0, 17KO) faces Olympian Terrell Gausha (21-1-0, 10KO) in a 10 round main event at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.
It’s not really clear where a win puts either fighter at this point in their respective careers, but a loss will make it next to impossible to be viewed as a relevant factor at the rate the division is rising.
Trout is 33 and has lost 3 of his last 4 fights, one to each Charlo brother and another to Jarrett Hurd. The 2012 Olympian Gausha, challenged Erislandy Lara for the WBA title but lost a 12 round unanimous decision. He bounced back with a first round knockout of Joey Hernandez in December of 2018 but it would be his only fight that year.
Austin Trout vs Terrell Gausha can be seen on FS1 Saturday at 8pm ET/ 5pm PT.
