Back in the year 2017, we had an exciting brawl break out in the ring between Miguel ‘El Alacran’ Berchelt (now 35-1-0, 31KO) and then-WBC Super-Featherweight Champion Francisco ‘El Bandido’ Vargas (now 25-1-2, 18KO).
While Vargas is a true war-machine, he was skillfully outclassed to go along with the punishment that accumulated, and the WBC title exchanged hands, the same belt that Berchelt has today. This weekend we will see them mix it up in a re-match, to see what new wrinkles Vargas added to his arsenal to combat against his fellow-Mexican fighter, and to see if Berchelt can repeat his performance this time around.
Also on the undercard as the co-main event, another thriller that we received in 2018 will get an immediate rematch, and that is between Isaac ‘Royal Storm’ Dogboe (20-1-0, 14KO) and WBO Super-Bantamweight Champion Emanuel ‘Vaquero’ Navarrete (26-1-0, 22KO).
The WBO World Title exchanged hands in what was one of the stand-out upsets of the year in 2018, with Navarrete’s height and reach frustrating Dogboe to where he couldn’t get into Navarrete’s wheelhouse. Now Dogboe gets a chance to win back what it is that he lost, and here is a grand moment for Navarrete to prove to people that what they seen was not a fluke, and that he is the real deal in this Super-Bantamweight division.
