Former WBC Super Lightweight Champion Viktor Postol (30-2, 12KO) is hoping he can make his way back to a title shot in the Super Lightweight division. He will be in just his 5th fight in the past four years, taking on Mohamed Mimoune (21-2, 2KO) of France in a 12 round bout.
Postol was a pretty hot commodity a few years ago following his 10th round TKO win over Lucas Matthysse, but that was brought to a halt in his next fight when he faced Terence Crawford, and was picked apart en route to the first loss of his career by unanimous decision. After bouncing back with a win in 2017, Postol was thrown back in the fire against Josh Taylor, suffering another decision loss.
Now Postol comes in off of a 10 round win against Siar Ozgul in November, and enters a WBC title eliminator against Mimoune who brings little to fear in the power department with a 9% knockout ratio but is best known to British boxing fans for upsetting Sam Eggington in 2017.
Postol vs Mimoune will serve as the undercard to Easter vs Barthelemy on Saturday night on Showtime at 10pm ET.
