If you have never seen Katie Taylor (12-0-0, 5KO) in action, stop and look her up right now, you don’t know what you’re missing. She is a 2016 Olympic Gold-Medalist, and she has won an absurd Gold-Medals in Amateur World Championships and European Tournaments for Ireland, which along with Felix Savón is the most success of any boxer (men or women) historically ever having in those amateur tournament type of settings.
Currently she is the Unified WBA/IBF Lightweight World Champion, and is recognized by many as being one of the four best P4P fighters in the world on the women’s side, some even seeing her as the current Queen of boxing.
Her most difficult test to date comes in the form of this match-up, that being against fellow titlist, WBO Lightweight World Champion Rose ‘The Queen’ Volante (14-0-0, 8KO) of Sao Paolo, Brazil.
Volante is one tough woman, and has a quality set of skills deemed worthy for her status in the division, and within the sport. As good as Rose is, she better rise to the occasion in validation of her nickname, because Katie is one that you need not to make any mistakes around, since she is known to pick apart her opponents.
This fight will be the co-main event on the Carroll/Farmer undercard, and will be showcased on the DAZN streaming application this Friday, with live coverage starting at 7 o’clock P.M. EST.
