You gotta appreciate a guy like ‘El Terremoto’ Leo Santa Cruz (35-1-1, 19KO).
LSC is the WBA Featherweight Champion of the world, and he always comes to fight, earning the reputation as being one of the most entertaining fighters in all of boxing today. He will face off against talented fellow-Mexican Rafael ‘Big Bang’ Rivera (26-2-2, 17KO) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angles California.
Despite being just 30 years of age, Santa Cruz has put together a lofty, eventful resume that would be an impressive one even if he were to forge a full career with what he has done. He is a 4-time, 3-division world Champion, who on Saturday is attempting to win his 15th world title fight. Guided by his father/trainer/inspiration Jose Santa Cruz (pictured above), these two together are a force to be reckoned with.
Rivera always been a talented fighter, however he fell just slightly short whenever he faced elite competition, and is looking to get over the hump. He has 2 losses on his record, one being against Joseph Diaz Jr., who is one of boxings best young talents, and dropped a razor close decision to Joet Gonzalez last year.
This will be his official 1st opportunity at a world title, and Santa Cruz is looking to take care of business and defend his WBA title for the 3rd consecutive time.
