WBC Super Bantamweight Champion Rey Vargas (32-0, 22KO) has to be happy that fight weekend is finally here. Vargas has heard Frankiln Manzanilla (18-4, 17KO) talk about how he has prepared to take his title and hand him his first loss Saturday night when the two meet up at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.
“I have heavy hands. If you don’t believe me, just ask Pollito Ceja (Manzanilla defeated last fight by 4th round stoppage). Vargas will find this out. He hasn’t faced an opponent as tall as him, or who hits as hard as I do.”
“I told him to not get too comfortable as champion because he will be going home with a loss on Saturday.”
Vargas has always let his hands do the talking, trash talk isn’t big with him, but he has stated that he won’t let the talking from Manzanilla cause him to lose focus.
“He claims that I am overconfident. Maybe that’s his whole game plan, to hope that I am overlooking him. I can promise you, that is never the case any time I step in the ring. Every time I fight, I go in with a smart, well-prepared game plan.”
