A great fight that all but promises to be a closely contested one, will headline the Broner/Pacquiao PPV undercard.
Mayweather Promotion’s quiet stand-out 2-division Champion Badou Jack ‘The Ripper’ (22-1-3, 13KO) ranks as the WBA #1 contender, and is up to battle against #2 WBA world contender ‘Sir’ Marcus Browne (22-0-0, 16KO) in pursuit of the vacant Interim WBA title belt.
Badou over the years has been one of those guys that doesn’t do much of anything flashy, but is supremely skilled across the board, and consistent in methodically breaking down his opponents, quite a few of those prime-time opposition, which is why he is to this day regarded as a handful for anyone in his weight category. His last fight was against former Champion Adonis Stevenson, where after a slow start, stormed forward with a serious finish down the stretch of the fight, but wasn’t able to pick up the victory or the title due to the fight being ruled a draw.
Marcus Browne is a very talented fighter, who has been putting in the work over the years to secure his spot as one of the 10 best in what is a flooded division, however, for whatever reason, he wasn’t able to secure any match-ups against an elite fighter, that is until now. He does have a win over popular New York fighter Sean Monaghan as his stand out win on his resume, and he is looking to further bolster it against a far superior boxer in Badou Jack.
There is another title-fight on the undercard, that is for the vacant WBC Bantamweight title between #1 ranked contender Nordine Oubaali (14-0-0, 11KO), and former Champion/currently ranked #3 contender Rau’shee Warren (16-2-0, 4KO). The WBC is the lone belt that isn’t wrapped up in the World Boxing Super Series (WBSS) tournament. The winner of this WBC belt will be mandated to face Interim WBC titlist Takuma Inoue. Tune in early to catch the action, as this fight card provides quality match-ups throughout.
