Josh Warrington silenced his doubters Saturday night as he successfully defended his IBF Featherweight title by a unanimous decision (116-112, 116-112, 116-113) over former two weight world champion Carl Frampton in Manchester, England.
The fighter from Leeds has never been mistaken for a power puncher, but by overwhelming Frampton with sheer volume and speed, Warrington was able to set the tone and continued the gameplan round by round.
With the win Warrington improved his record to 28-0, 6KO, and Frampton falls to 26-2, 15KO. Post fight Warrington stated that WBA Featherweight Leo Santa Cruz and WBO champion Oscar Valdez are on his radar next. Both will make for great action fights.
