Oh, we have a good one here folks.
Newly minted IBF Featherweight Champion Josh Warrington (27 – 0 – 0, 6KO) is back in action, and he is up for the toughest test of his rising, budding career, facing off against 3X, 2-division Champion Carl ‘The Jackal’ Frampton (26 – 1 – 0, 15KO).
With a warrior’s approach, Warrington took the fight to his previous opponent whom he took the title against, that being the highly touted Lee Selby, outworking him, outclassing him, and beating Selby to virtually every punch, for what was a bloody, painful victory for the boxer from Leeds.
As for Frampton, he has put together a thorough, heavily storied career which has him fancied as a Northern Ireland legend. He has secured big wins over Scott Quigg in a unification title-match at Super-Featherweight, and a giant victory over Leo Santa Cruz, a fighter many covet to be the best Featherweight in the world currently, and one who has a rivalry going against Frampton where each has a victory over the other.
A hungry, motivated young Champion versus a great counterpuncher, who also enjoys a good scrap? Sounds like one you shouldn’t miss. Log into ESPN+ on December 22nd to watch fireworks take place in the ring.
