Thursday in Chonburi, Thailand, Knockout CP Freshmart (18-0-0, 7KO) makes the sixth defense of his WBA Minimumweight Title, this time against the man he took the belt from, Byron Rojas (25-3-3, 11KO).
The first fight in 2016 was a tough watch as there was more wrestling than boxing taking place, but in the end the judges came to a unanimous decision that Freshmart was the winner by the score of 115-113 on all cards.
Rojas has vowed that he is prepared to regain his title in the rematch,
“My trainer Wilmer Hernandez has put together an outstanding game plan. Now I have to carry out those instructions in route to victory. This is my third time fighting outside of my native Nicaragua and my previous experiences have me more prepared for this upcoming fight.
I don’t see much change in the way Freshmart fights, but there is no doubt I have to be at my best to beat him. I’ve trained hard and am coming to win this fight by knockout. My hunger, determination, and will to be a world champion again will be a major difference this time around.”
