Australian rivals Jeff Horn and Anthony Mundine will square off Friday at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia.
Horn (18-1-1, 12KO) who is 30, will be moving up to 160 pounds to take on the 43 year old vet Mundine (48-8-0, 28KO) after spending his career at welterweight, which included a huge, yet controversial upset of Manny Pacquiao, and in his last fight in June, suffered a one sided dismantling at the hands of Terence Crawford.
Mundine has fought only twice in the last 3 years with split results. He suffered a majority decision loss at the hands of Danny Green at cruiserweight in 2017, and returned to middleweight in January 2018, delivering a knockout win over Tommy Browne.
Horn has been criticized by opponents for head-butting, with both Pacquiao and Crawford’s camps expressing concerns before their fighters took to the ring to face Horn.
Mundine has stated that Horn’s headbutts are the “only thing” he’s worried about and he’ll address it at a pre-fight rules meeting with referee Phil Austin.
The Horn vs. Mundine fight will be shown on ESPN+ at 7:00 a.m. ET/4:00 a.m. PT
